Attached are a few slides/pics of a living shoreline protection project south of New Orleans, Louisiana at the Buras Boat Marina.  580 LF was armored with a new technology called SHORE|LINKS® which is a unique tool for preventing erosion.  The system is based on lightweight aggregate or expanded clay enclosed in a material made of poly mesh fabric. The mesh material is fabricated with multiple lobes and filled with lightweight aggregate to minimize the weight and maximize the height of each unit. This shape allows for interlocking within each unit and also filtering and entrapment of sediments to encourage vegetation growth.  The SHORE|LINKS® system is available in small and large Articulating Revetments Mats for armoring and re-vegetating shorelines or slopes.  The design also allows for configuring  into a SHORE|LINKS Sock Log that function as breakwaters and sediment entrapment barriers.  The 1st 9 months are showing positive results.  See attachmentBuras%20slides%204-28-15.pdfBurt BrumfieldDelta Land Services, This email address is being protected from spambots.
