The Trust said the grants will advance K-12 environmental education efforts, create living shorelines in Maryland. They will also create green spaces in what are now vacant lots in Baltimore City, fund neighborhood clean-ups as well as tree plantings and other community-focused projects. The grants are made available through the Trust's Living Shoreline grant program, Growing Green Design Competition. The grants include “mini grants” of less than $5,000, as well as grants through the Trust's Living Shoreline grant program and the Prince George's County Rain Check Rebate Program.
