Little St. Simon Island, Georgia
Description
Little St. Simon Island is a private barrier island located on Georgia's coast. This project removed a failing bulkhead. An oyster revetment was constructed in its place with native marsh grasses planted surrounding it. Since construction there has already been evidence of an increase in species richness around the living shoreline. This project was completed in June of 2013.
