Friends,Are you bummed that you missed last year's call for authors for our book on living shorelines? Yes you say? Well great news... we are putting out the last and final call for chapter contributors. There's still time, albeit not much. Daft chapters are due next month with revisions due in May to make a June 1 deadline for the final manuscript. This new book will be edited and co-authored by myself, Doug DeBerry, and Scott Hardaway. This book will focus on the "how to" and "why" aspects of designing living shorelines that appropriately account for regionally specific coastal ecology and coastal engineering needs. The book will contain regional chapters written by teams of engineers, ecologists, and scientists from the private, public, and academic sectors. Please see the attached author solicitation, which contains a brief description of the book, a tentative outline, and some important due dates.Living Shorelines Book - ToC and TimelineWe could benefit from contributors in the following regions: Southeast US, Great Lakes, Pacific Islands (Hawaii), and the Pacific Northwest. Please contact me if you are interested in being a contributing author for this new and exciting book:bwebb@southalabama.edu
