Sweetwater Property, Galveston Island
Description
Over 1,000 feet of reef domes have been placed along the Sweetwater Property shoreline on Galveston Island in Texas. Severe erosion from wave energy had threatened the critical salt marsh habitat along the shore. By deploying the domes, sediment accretion was encouraged while the resulting oyster recruitment improve water quality and clarity.
